So if you are an Asian
Not only there was a leaking problem, the water temperature was not consistent at all and sometimes in the middle of the shower the water would become so hot that it almost burn me! Besides the shower, our experience with the breakfast on the 1st floor was not pleasant at all. The main concern is that, through out the 4 days having breakfast there as Asian guests, we have clearly noticed that some staffs would favour the western guests over Asian ones. It is ridiculous that the shower at my home is even better than a 4-STAR hotel. I didn’t enjoyed my shower at all and just wanted to finish it quickly. The food was okay, the restaurant environment was not enjoyable at all, it feels like a circus having people walking around and staff busting in a clouded area.
It was frustrating that we had to request for a several times to get our table cleaned while the table next to us (westerners of course) always got attended in no time. So if you are an Asian, don’t choose to stay in the Rembrandt Hotel, you are not welcome here. Some staffs are clearly more friendly and helpful to the western guests etc. It was not a subjective feeling as my family and friends observed that too. We were polite to the staffs and I think we deserved a better and equal service. I had visited Bangkok for several times and stayed in many others hotels, I had never felt so unwelcome by the hotel staff like this time, which is very disappointing for a 4-star hotel.
We stayed in the Rembrandt Hotel for 4 days with a very reasonable price through Expedia. We stayed in the room 1104 and it was nice and clean, even it is a bit tired and dated, the bed was very comfortable. However, the bathroom is a big disappointment as the facilities were poorly maintained. There was a leaking problem with the shower thus the water was weak. The location was good, it is in the center of the main city but it’s still a bit far to walk to the nearest BTS station and the Tuktuk service from the hotel to the main road was always out of order, but it didn’t bothered us much.
If you want to prevent your car from being a target for thieves, one of the first things a car-theft expert will advise you to do is to clear out any trace of gadgets and accessories that might be resold easily. Most GPS and car break-in thieves are looking for something they can snatch quickly and sell, including cheaper items. And yet one of the most important things is often the most easily overlooked: the suction-cup marks on your window or dashboard. You might put GPS units and iPods in the trunk, hide the power cords and sweep the interior to make sure there’s nothing left out on display.
He also knows you aren’t home, because he found your car while you were out shopping. Just remember to hide whatever mount you do use along with the GPS. To deter thieves from choosing your car as a mark in the first place, experts suggest keeping all valuable items in the trunk and using a different form of mount for your GPS if you don’t want the hassle of wiping away the marks whenever you remove it.
